ARH - Abuse By The Rich

  1. Criticism: The rich would get to use a more expensive type of protection agency that uses violence to come out on top of every situation
    Assumptions: GLOPAG
    Solutions:
    1. ARHPKO - If a rich person did this, other protection agencies would kill him and/or his protection agency because they would be costing them too much money.

  2. Criticism: He could hold himself up in a fortress of some kind with enough protection that it is not profitable for the other protection agencies to go kill him and the other protection agencies would be better off if they just absorbed the costs that the rich individual imposes on them.
    Assumptions: GLOPAG, ARHPKO
    Solutions:
    1. ARHPKI - In this case though, the rich individual would not be out in the public interacting with others and so there would be much less of a problem, if any, anyway. He couldn't, for instance, go out and kill someone, because then he would be exposed and easier to kill.

  3. Criticism: He could still interact over the internet and other communication networks (i.e. scamming people).
    Assumptions: GLOPAG, ARHPKO, ARHPKI
    Solutions:
    1. Yes, he could but if it got to be much of a problem, a market for internet protection would arise and there would be ways to protect yourself from online scams or there would arise some certification system or whatever much like how there is a market for anti-virus software.

  4. Criticism: Rich people would be able to get more powerful insurance companies than the common man
    Assumptions: GLOPAG
    Solutions:
    1. Actually, the most powerful arbitration companies would be the ones with the most customers since they would have the biggest army/police force and so are in a better position to negotiate.

  5. Criticism: A rich person could pay a higher premium and always win in the private courts
    Assumptions: GLOPAG
    Solutions:
    1. (solution needed)

  6. Criticism: A rich person could pay an extra fee and get an edge in the private courts
    Assumptions: GLOPAG
    Solutions:
    1. (solution needed)

  7. Criticism: No one would testify against rich people because they could just give them money not to and so rich people would get away with anything
    Assumptions: GLOPAG
    Solutions:
    1. (solution needed)

APA - Abuse By The Protection Agency

APE - Abuse By Protection Agency Employees

  1. Criticism: CEOs and other important positions in protection agencies would get immunity from the system because the different protection agencies would make an alliance to give their important people immunity.
    Assumptions: GLOPAG
    Solutions:
    1. APEPOP - It would be very bad for business if the CEO committed any serious crime because it would be all over the news just like how it is now when a CEO does anything bad. It would be even worse for a protection agency since a higher moral standard will be demanded of it from the public. Plus the CEO could easily lose their position in a situation like this since a portion or all of the public will switch to a competitor if something is not done.

  2. Criticism: But if the CEO did do a crime, who's going to tell the people in the first place? The investigators wouldn't go around advertising it and they could certainly pay off the media to keep quite about it.
    Assumptions: GLOPAG APEPOP
    Solutions:
    1. (solution needed)

APS - Abuse By Protection Agency Shareholders

  1. Criticism: If a protection agency kept the list of its owners confidential, the owners could have free reign to do anything they want with no consequences.
    Assumptions: GLOPAG
    Solutions:
    1. APSPWR - If, say, the confidential owner of insurance company A murdered a client of insurance company B and then attempted to pay off company B then this is a great opportunity for company B. Company B could bring this to the public's attention and then massive amounts of customers would start dropping company A which would take away the owner of company A's power to do these things.

  2. Criticism: But what if company A was much bigger than company B and threatened war if they went public with this?
    Assumptions: GLOPAG, APSPWR
    Solutions:
    1. APSLWR - Company A would weaken quickly as their monthly premiums disappeared and company B would gets lots of good PR and exposure, increasing its revenue - soon the tables would be turned. Company A would not go this far though because even if company A had enough funds saved up to win the war, they would still lose all their customers in the end.

  3. Criticism: But what if company A did some crazy propaganda thing so no one was really sure who the bad guy was?
    Assumptions: GLOPAG, APSLWR
    Solutions:
    1. Then people would drop both companies and both would lose the power to commit crimes and get away with it.
